The Woman as a Goddess

2025 oil on canvas  60 x 80

Price € 2700

In this painting, I seek the voice of the feminine principle — not the one that asserts itself, but the one that endures. The woman stands as an axis between worlds. She does not speak, yet her presence sustains the balance between earth and sky, between memory and hope.
I created this image as an inner ritual. The circle behind the figure is both sun and womb — an end and a beginning at once. The stairs lead upward and inward, tracing the silent path every woman walks. Water reflects, but it also keeps secrets. The small figures below represent different states of the feminine soul — movement, pain, dance, surrender.
This work is about a power that does not need words. About silence that is not absence, but knowledge. Within the context of the exhibition “Veils of Silence”, the painting is my attempt to lift one of those veils and leave the viewer alone with what cannot be spoken

The Us of Tomorrow – Our Children’s Promises / Le nous de demain – Nos promesses d’enfants

2025 mixed media on canvas 50 x 40

Price € 900

“”The Us of Tomorrow – Our Childhood Promises””
This work was created for the theme “Memories and Future Horizons”, in the beautiful month of July. It tells the story of love and the budding complicity of children, exploring the invisible ties between past and present, the fragility and the strength of promises. Words are hidden here and there, like whispers: “The Us of Tomorrow”, “Love”…
The lion and the wolf (top left and top right) watch in silence, symbolic figures of courage, instinct, and protective love. But one must take the time to look. This canvas does not reveal itself at once; it unfolds slowly, like a score, like a story written by two hands. These children — perhaps they lived a brief idyll?
Perhaps they drifted apart as they grew older, or perhaps (as the painting seems to whisper) they found each other again, one day, by chance, as adults. Or maybe it is simply my childlike side that dares not voice its feelings, afraid that it might all just be a waking dream…
________________________________________

Art might not change the world, but it can lift the veils of silence and let us hear all that we buried too early

Carolina in Paris

2025 digital print

60 x 52

Price € 1.300

“Carolina in Paris” was made in collaboration with model Carolina Scheele, on a beautiful sunny day in Paris last September. I had bought a piece of beautiful and delicate cotton lace from a boutique fabric store, and envisioned a veiled woman walking through the streets of Paris, mysteriously. I wanted her to feel timeless, and for the image to capture a certain kind of feeling that I will leave to you to decide upon for yourself. The blue of the door she is standing in front of reminded me of the blues of Picasso’s “blue period.”

12 Marie

2023 digital print 60 x 52

Price € 1.300

“The 12 Marie” was caught by chance one night in Venezia. I had just come from performing with the Isadora Duncan International Institute at a masquerade ball, and was zigzagging my way through the secret winding streets, when I caught a flash of red and gold ahead. It was the12 Marie, the 12 girls chosen to represent Carnevale for the year ahead, and so I pulled my camera out of my bag and sped up to catch a photo of them as they ascended a bridge in a blur of luxurious fabric. I snapped the shutter just in time to capture these veiled women like bright angels dancing through the dark.

I think this is a great initiative because painting always reveals its meaning in silence, and any exhibition that comes together in such a beautiful space as Venice, and with the enthusiasm you all have shown in putting this show together, is very welcome.

Eternal Spring

2025 acrylic on canvas 44,5 x 55

Price € 1.450

I was in an art shop and attracted to a light emerald green paint. It became the starting point for Eternal Spring. I really just let the painting happen itself. A palette of titanium white, lemon yellow, magenta, light green (blue shade) and light emerald green. I mix and see what emerges in the making. Springtime arrived. Driving through leafy streets, I realised that the painting was springtime, eternal springtime. Bringing light into the present for everyone to feel joy. It was painted in the past, it is visiting me here in the present, as I type and it is also waiting to be shared with the world in the future.

Embracing Kindness

2025 wearable art: mixed media, canvas, wire, acrylic paint 56 x 73

Being alone holds an element of fragility but it can also be so empowering. When you come together with others who feel the same it can be beautiful. Apart you are still your individual identity and together you can support and build up those around you. This Wearable piece is a reminder to be observant or your self and the kindness of those close to you. A reminder of what power kindness has in this chess game of a world we live in. This Wearable art piece can be worn by one person but also three individuals.

This piece was especially made for the Nartwork Exhibition “Veils of Silence” and inspired by my past experience being in Venice.

Echoes of life

2024 mixed media on canvas 80 x 100

Price € 2.400

ECHOES of LIFE is, for me, a mirror of a life lived.
A painting in which memories, experiences, and inner processes coexist—interdependent and continually transforming.
Sorrow and healing, repression and integration, connection and consciously renewed choice are interwoven side by side.
Like layers that overlap, shine through one another, dissolve, and re-form.
This work speaks of the quiet power of change and growth.
Of the human capacity to choose anew from within—and to translate that choice into life, into the visible, into the material world.
ECHOES of LIFE is the answer of a wisdom that has grown out of you and your experiences.
It is hope, consciously chosen, and a response to the painful moments we transform into shiny colors.

In the parallelogram with the two primary and complementary colors, there are 16 elements forming a small “windmill” per color.

Then mo.ve: in English, it means to move, to advance, etc.

And in French, it’s also the first two letters of MOulin à VEnt (windmill).

Finally, I added etc… to signify that it continues.

Ikonen ohne namen (icons without name) XXXVI

2023 acrylic on cavas 50 x 70

Price € 850

The series „Iktinen tihne Namen“ („Ictins withtiut names“) is based on mass media imagery. Photos of crises, catastrophes and human suffering replacing each other in an endless succession. Seen today, and tomorrow- with the next hype- already pushed to the background again. Situations which continue but don’t have images anymore. Images which seem so clear from a distance but stay so blurred on a closer look as most of the faces have no name. You see their condition but you don’t see them. Floating impressions, shadows of reality, anonymous icons of incidents. Situations, which often are so far away from our own experience.
My pixels mimic the visual language of digital media. However, where media uses pixelation to either shield or shame I repurpos it as a mode of reference and critique to reflect the anonymity and abstraction imposed by mass media. Moreover: pixels are anonymity but aren’t they as well like the countless facets of our world, the flood of informations from which we have to form the picture of a reality beyond our personal experience?
Tti work on this series is intriguing. Like walking a thin line between figurative and abstract. Sometimes I don’t care where I end up, but most works finally merge both: viewed from a distance, the figurative is present but dissolves by approaching the abstracting- countless pixels, each with its very own information.

Procne – Apoteosi della rondine

2023 mixed media on wood 50 x 50

BLIND ECSTASY SERIE – dittico 1

2025 photography 100 x 75

Price € 2.000

OpticalEmotions

« The trace is a moment of alignment.
An expression emerges without fixing itself »

My contribution to Veils of Silence reflects on silence as a state of suspension rather than absence.

The works present traces of faces without forming portraits. Expression appears fragmentary, withheld, and unresolved. What is shown remains partial, as if veiled by the very act of becoming visible.

Silence is understood here as a condition of restraint — a space in which meaning is delayed and presence remains understated rather than declared.

FIELDS III

2025 glass in a wooden frame with two wooden base 60 x 48

Price 2.500

Fields is a series of works I began in 2023. I went to the fields wearing different clothes to study color contrasts. Simple, clear poses, movements, playing with the wind, dancing with the wind, to bathe the expanses and the horizon in color. I chose this work for the exhibition theme because the dance in the fields was created in the year of wars. The blood-red sky above the figure with the white veil, symbolizing trust and freedom, is for me both an expression and a signpost for the future. Focusing on beauty and positivity—still relevant and all the more urgent—is the Fields series, which stands for flourishing landscapes and seeks to dispel war zones of all kinds. The figure becomes an abstraction and a symbol of freedom and the joy of life in times of sorrow and war.

Drawing a square, c.p.114

2025 mixed media on canvas 65,2 x 80,4

In the passing days and hours, I am hardly aware of being myself. If there is one thing, it would be in the act of painting.
The source of my creative work lies in Buddhist thought.
It is rooted in the eternity of life, as preached in the “Hokekyou Juryouhon”

Sutra, the core of Buddhist thought.
It is an approach to existence that begins with the reflection of “I” as a living human
being.
When Buddhism is the fundamental philosophy and the Buddhist teachings is taken as absolute truth, the divergence revealed in the “I”s thoughts, judgments, and actions suggests the present within eternity and the here within infinity, making one more keenly aware of one’s own existence as a subject.

Mystery of bleeding veils, shrouds

2025 oil pastel, silver toned paper 34 x 49

Price € 1.000

Mystery of bleeding veils, shrouds.
I used metallic colors on silver-colored paper. Bronze, gold, silver are mixed with blues, burgundy, and grays. I tried to express the collective wounds. The central figure behind it refers to the enthronement of Christ. For me, the veil also associates with the shroud. With this, it is also closely connected to the location, the church.

Hidden sadness

2025 acrylic on canvas 65 x 81

Price € 880

My work is important to me, but also frightening. Hidden Sadness contains a great deal of my own emotions and personal experience. Revealing something vulnerable also means making oneself visible — and that requires courage.

In the painting, the woman is still trying to hide her pain, even though it is already visible. Her hands attempt to pull her abdomen closed, as if to protect herself, even though her soul has already been exposed. The heart is hidden behind demons, dark thoughts, and difficult experiences. These elements represent everything a person often carries inside but does not show to others.

The butterflies represent thoughts. Their colors are partially faded, darkened, or completely gone, much like hope and joy can fade or disappear during difficult times. Still, there is a trace of color left in them. This is important to me — a sign that hope is not entirely lost.

Through this work, I want to show that even in darkness, something fragile and alive can remain. Through art, I can give form to what is usually kept hidden, and perhaps offer the viewer a sense that they are not alone with their own shadows.

Awe in The Shadows

2025 acrylic on canvas 50 x 60

Price € 1.400

The basis for this paining was a poem:

Bluebells,

pale blue whispers.

Their sound is silent,

but those who listen with their inner ear

hear an ancient song,

from a time

that never quite passes.

They bow to the wild rose,

not out of weakness,

but in awe of what

lurks behind it.

For in the shadows,

where the light does not quite dare to venture,

the thorns stand

like the claws of sleeping spirits.

Thus lives the eternal tension

in the song of gentleness

between mild enchantment

and silent danger.

Each point a vow,

a curse,

a protection?

Each blossom a charm,

a blessing,

a spell?

The transition to a balance

of trust and caution

is no simple game, but a gateway.

Only those who continue

on will know.

The artwork depicts an unnoticed plant that can thrive in the smallest of spaces, such as pavement cracks, with inconspicuous flowers. This sends a clear signal that nature finds a way to flourish even in inhospitable places, allowing life to emerge anew. In detail, all the elements are connected with lines that unite the contrasts of light and shadow, of living nature and dead stone, of renewal and solidification into a harmonious aesthetic whole.

The wolf among us

2025 govache on the wood 60 x 80

Price € 500

The painting portrays a man smoking a cigarette, looking toward the left side of the painting. As the eye moves outward from the center of the portrait, lines and forms gradually dissolve into abstraction. The colors are held in warm, orangey tones that symbolize life and vitality, standing in contrast to the man’s restrained and weary facial expression. The fading lines and colors evoke the feeling that he is hiding within the smoke, perhaps even vanishing at any moment.
On a deeper level, the man represents a hardworking individual who helps maintain the beauty of Venice and keeps the city running so that visitors can experience it in its full glory. This dedication, however, comes at a cost. He feels overworked and frustrated, caught in a cycle that seems never- ending. Still, he shows up every day.
He chooses to remain below the surface, moving quietly through narrow alleys, observing rather than being seen. Most people are unaware of—and therefore unable to appreciate—the immense effort required to preserve the city’s brilliance, and the individuals who consistently invest their energy to make it possible.
The painting serves as a reminder to visitors to become more aware of those who give their best so others can enjoy Venice. It calls for kindness, for not taking the city for granted, and for helping both the people and the city by acting responsibly, treating Venice with care, respect, and gratitude.

Hidden Storyline

2025 acrylic on canvas 40 x 30

Price € 250

““Hidden Storyline”” – fragments of untold memories. The painting unfolds like a quiet echo from the past — a multi-layered abstract piece that invites deep reflection and suggests forgotten memories woven into color and texture. The earthy tones combined with the textured white layers create a captivating depth, evoking traces of time and hidden stories.
In this way, the work resonates with the theme of “Memories and Future Horizons,” embodying fragments of the past that still echo in the present.

Vita

2025 mixed media on canvas 50 x 50

Price €550

The Lotus Series No.48

2023 oil on canvas 50 x 60

Price € 3.000

Lihong Zhang chose lotus flowers as a reflection of her culture and as a theme to further explore contemporary Impressionist painting techniques. She has developed a unique and distinctive personal painting language with bold colors and decisive brushstrokes, showcasing her outstanding personal style.

Lotus flowers symbolize the charm of Eastern Zen, tranquility, and harmony, bringing new interpretations to Impressionist works. Viewers can observe the artist’s joy in the medium of painting through carefully crafted color palettes and emotionally charged brushstrokes that convey the painter’s state of mind.

Lihong Zhang’s inspiration for her paintings often comes at night, sometimes even appearing in her dreams. She promptly captures these inspirations on canvas, often creating abstract and surreal atmospheres in her artwork when painting at night. The depicted flowers possess subjective colors that give viewers a unique visual and sensory experience.

Lihong Zhang’s oil paintings embody the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. She hopes her lotus flowers can provide visual sensations and psychological comfort to more people, allowing them to find inner peace in the chaotic world.
