Inner temple

2024 oil and gold leaf on canvas 100 x 90

Price € 2.500

This piece centers on a figure surrounded by vibrant natural elements, with a single mushroom in the foreground. The mushroom, often a symbol of renewal and cycles of life, stands as a reminder of fragility and interconnectedness. The golden accents scattered throughout the scene evoke timelessness, hinting at the residue of lived experiences that linger within us. The figure, calm and contemplative, represents the inner sanctuary we build to hold our most intimate reflections, our “temples” of emotions and memories, shaped yet unbroken by the passage of time.

Both paintings explore the concept of the specter as the lingering echoes of time, as fragments of our past selves, emotions, and experiences that transcend the temporal. The use of organic motifs, such as the mushroom and golden leaves, symbolizes the natural cycles of growth and decay, while the human figures represent our capacity to anchor ourselves within this flux. The gold leaf elements further highlight the duality of impermanence and enduring beauty, urging us to cherish fleeting moments while embracing their transformative power.

Through Inner Temple and Inner Stage, I aim to create a visual dialogue that connects viewers to their own timebound specters, celebrating the interplay between the transient and the timeless.

Inner stage
2024 oil and gold leaf on canvas 70 x 50

Price € 1.350

In Inner Stage, a serene figure emerges from a bed of golden leaves and delicate threads, embodying the unfolding self. The ethereal elements suggest the imprints of time, memories and emotions that remain part of our inner landscape, even as they transform. The glowing tones and subtle textures reflect the tension between the transient and the enduring, portraying life as a stage where moments pass, but their essence continues to shape us long after they have gone.

Palpiti di colore

2022 oil on canvas 60 x 40

The ellipse, made from recycled wood, represents the continuity of life. Strong, dynamic and bright brushstrokes refer to an ever changing nature, in an undescribable chaos and never ending emptiness.
The various colours symbolize the re-form that must be enacted by every one of us: every color is an aspect of our life and only through our decisions and actions we can re-shape and better our sorroundings.

Climb through the moment

2025 mixed media 81 x 56

Price € 1.200

“Climb Through the Moment” is a deeper look into the reflection of where we see ourselves today and where we see ourselves in the future. Can we climb the tree and stretch our own limbs to the potential we see in ourselves? What do we do if we falter? What do we do if we can not see what comes next? Can we climb through the moment as it comes our way?

“Nouveau concept.
Chaque toile a 8 points d’accrochage. Ce qui fait à minima 120 possibilités. (8 X 15 = 120)

Buona appensione.

New concept. I acquired these small 20 x 20 cm canvases that caught my eye.
Then I thought about how to make the most of them.
Tracing a concentric rhombus gave rise to 5 equidistant spaces.
I gave honor to tertiary colors. A tertiary color is a primary color mixed equally with a secondary color. Example: orange red, orange yellow and so on.
Hence the title five tertiary lozenges in Spanish.
The canvases are held together with tabs on the reverse.
Each canvas has 8 hanging points. This makes a minimum of 120 possibilities. (8 X 15 = 120)
All your nimble hands have to do is screw them into the most convenient positions.
I’ve made several visuals with different possibilities.
That way, you’ll be able to enjoy your artwork over and over again.
Happy hanging.

Ikonen ohne Namen CV

2025 acrylic on canvas 50 x 70

Price € 630

The series „Ikonen ohne Namen“ („Icons without names“) is based on media-images. Photos, replacing each other in an endless succession. Seen today, and tomorrow- with the next hype- already pushed to the background again.
Incidents, which continue, but don’t have images anymore. Images, of situations, people and faces, which seem so clear from a distance , but stay so blurred on a closer look, as most of the faces have no name. You see their condition, but you don’t see them. Floating impressions, shadows of reality, anonymous icons of incidents. Situations, which are sometimes so far away from the own experience.
Pixel are anonymity. But aren’t they as well like the countless facets of our world, the flood of informations, from which we have to form the picture of reality?

To work on this series is intriguing. Like walking a thin line between figurative and abstract. Sometimes I don’t care, where I end up, but most works finally merge both: viewed from a distance, the figurative is present, but dissolves by approaching into abstraction- countless pixels, each with its very own information.

Life contains a lot of variety and beauty
… it shows us transience and a new beginning …
… even if it is dreary and grey in our perceptible world …
… the colorful is already on the way!”

This artwork symbolises the process of individuation in C.G.Jung’s understanding: becoming an individual with a unique personality takes a long time, stepping out from the collective unconscious or an unspecific industrial object, shown here with an undefined colour on both sides of the artwork, into the consciously differentiated individuality. Individuality is never perfect and shows the wounds and signs of the  lifetime. With an ironic touch, the artwork shows the value of the individuation as a long time process. So, the time itself is one of the most important elements of condicio humana.

Fear

2024 mixed media on canvas 100 x 120

Price € 2.000

The painting Fear depicts a naked, contemplative figure seated on the floor, holding a bleeding heart in their hand — a gesture symbolizing emotional exposure, helplessness, and pain. Surrounding the figure on both sides are grotesque faces and deformed masks, embodying anxiety, social pressure, intrusive thoughts, and inner demons that overwhelm and entrap the individual.

Hovering above is a lamp directly referencing Pablo Picasso’s Guernica — a key symbol representing the relentless light of truth and suffering, illuminating the internal “war” each person wages within. Its presence underscores the universal nature of trauma and psychological pain — a private drama unfolding under full light, with no escape into shadow.

Fear is not only a depiction of emotional crisis but also a visual metaphor for the human condition — revealing how fragile the boundary is between the inner world and the outside, between solitude and overload, between silence and scream.” The theme makes me think about the changes we go through during difficult times. Time isn’t just something that passes — it shapes us, changes how we see ourselves and the world. ok

Martyr

2020 oil on canvas 60 x 50

Price € 1.400

The painting Martyrs was chosen for the ‘Change of Time’ exhibition because
centuries earlier it would not have been possible to depict this theme in this
form.
This painting shows Jesus Christ, who took upon himself severe physical
suffering and death for humanity. Due to the current queer ideology, his face
has been depicted as feminine. The three thorns on the left side of his face
symbolise the crown of thorns. As he is already depicted as feminine, a head
covering has been included, as was compulsory for a Corinthian Christian woman
at the time and is still the hijab in Islam today.

Genesis 1

2024 wooden wall object 54 x 46 x 3

Price € 750

“Genesis” explores the creative process and the delicate balance between chaos and order. Through its geometric forms and layered structure, it reflects a universal flow of energy and the interconnected nature of creation. The concept of Timebound Specter deeply resonates with me, as it reflects the interplay between the ephemeral nature of time and the enduring traces it leaves on our existence.

In the moment of the present.

In the limited area of here.

Awareness of eternity on oneself, preached in the “”Hokekyou

An approach to reality that begins with reflection on the “”I”” as a

living human being.

When one takes it as a given that Buddhism is the fundamental

philosophy and that the Buddhist teachings it preaches are absolute

principles, the divergences that appear in the thoughts, judgments,

and actions of the “”I”” indicate the present in eternity and the here

and now in infinity, making one more strongly aware of one’s

existence as a subject.

Mankind

2023-2024 hand sculpting, fireclay, glazes 59 x 29 x 38

Price € 5.000

Mankind is a visual allegory of humanity in search of itself amid the swirl of change. A multitude of bodies emerging as uplifted hands tells the story of shared history, collective experience, pain, hope, and the endless desire for a future. In this sculptural form, past, present, and future intertwine. Time is no longer linear — it stands suspended at a breaking point, where humanity confronts a new understanding of its own nature. Each hand is a gesture of human essence: despair, struggle, prayer, support, pressure, love. Together, they form an entangled mass where individuality dissolves into the collective, only to give birth to a new “self” — a renewed meaning of existence. The vibrant, flowing glazes enhance the sense of chaos and beauty from which the humanity of tomorrow is born — vulnerable, complex, and capable of deep emotion and transformation. This sculpture attempts to capture an emotional portrait of mankind at a moment of inner fracture, where change becomes the only truth.

The Passage of Time

2024 mixed media on paper 50 x 70

Price € 700

My work features birds and trajectories of some of their flight patterns. Birds dive into the air creating loops in the sky, they seem so utterly free, unconstrained. Our bodies are bound to a time frame we are living in, but our mind is free to go in and out of our memories or reflecting the present, future. That is why the artwork is called ‘The Passage of Time’, our mind is the passage allowing us to travel back and forward in time with the same leap and unrestriction as birds.

Perhaps time is a movement, constant change. Points and markers affixing something that is in constant movement. Trying to tame time or a line of movement. It’s changing and shifting, powerfully moving forward and we hope for the mercy of the strong force guiding us.

For me, females are very complex and difficult to understand. Sometimes they are objects of longing and some times, are even objects of fear. I paint females with ambivalent emotion to them like two artworks being exhibited. In addition, two artworks have time difference. I painted “Suspicion! in 2024 and “Look at me” more than ten years ago. My skill of painting has changed in this 10 years but my perspective to female seems to have not changed so much. It was a finding for me.

Vita

2025 mixed media on canvas 50 x 50

Price €550

The Lotus Series No.48

2023 oil on canvas 50 x 60

Price € 3.000

Lihong Zhang chose lotus flowers as a reflection of her culture and as a theme to further explore contemporary Impressionist painting techniques. She has developed a unique and distinctive personal painting language with bold colors and decisive brushstrokes, showcasing her outstanding personal style.

Lotus flowers symbolize the charm of Eastern Zen, tranquility, and harmony, bringing new interpretations to Impressionist works. Viewers can observe the artist’s joy in the medium of painting through carefully crafted color palettes and emotionally charged brushstrokes that convey the painter’s state of mind.

Lihong Zhang’s inspiration for her paintings often comes at night, sometimes even appearing in her dreams. She promptly captures these inspirations on canvas, often creating abstract and surreal atmospheres in her artwork when painting at night. The depicted flowers possess subjective colors that give viewers a unique visual and sensory experience.

Lihong Zhang’s oil paintings embody the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. She hopes her lotus flowers can provide visual sensations and psychological comfort to more people, allowing them to find inner peace in the chaotic world.
